Working With Children Check
All Sõrve attendees 18+ are required to provide a valid Working with Children Check (WWCC) number.
Please apply as a ‘Volunteer’, which is free. When looking through the options of volunteer, please select ‘Clubs or other bodies providing services to children’.
Apply online then verify your identity at Service NSW. Allow approximately 2-4 weeks from application to obtaining a WWCC number. You can register for Sõrve 2027 before you obtain a WWCC number, but please provide this no later than 1 October, 2026.
You will be required to provide 4 documents including two primary (Drivers Licence, Birth Certificate, Passport) and 2 secondary documents (Bank Statements, credit card, Medicare card, utility bill) when doing your application online. Bring these documents with you to Service NSW when you verify your ID.

To be eligible to attend Sõrve 2027, all full-time and part-time (casual) attendees who are 18 years and over must provide a valid WWCC number on or before 1 October 2026.
Membership
Become a member of Sõrve Sõbrad, lend a hand at our promotional and fundraising events, or step up as a leader at camp! Membership is a great way to stay connected to the Sõrve community and support the next generation of campers.
Sõrve Membership is offered free of charge to anyone aged 16 and over attending camp full-time. If you won’t be attending the 2027 Sõrve on a full-time basis but still want to be part of the community, the annual membership fee is just $20.

Donations
Suur tänu Sõrvele päranduse jätmise eest! Sõrve Sõbrad is honoured to have received a generous bequest from the Estate of the late Maud Kaljot.
Maud was a valued member of the Sõrve community and its role in keeping Estonian culture alive in Australia.
Project Funding
The Estonian Cultural Foundation in Australia (ECFA) aims to facilitate the promotion of Estonian culture in Australia, providing financial support to organisations & individuals.
We are pleased to announce that ECFA has generously agreed to provide project funding of the amount of $8,000 for 2027 Sõrve.
The annual Sõrve camp is made possible thanks to the time, effort and passion invested by our valued members of the Australian-Estonian community.
Constitutional Objectives
- Maintain and promote Estonian culture, language, customs, traditions and community amongst young people of an Estonian background in Australia.
- Develop social, organising, leadership and teamwork skills amongst young people of an Estonian background in Australia.
- Identify and train future potential leaders of the Estonian community in Australia.
- Create an environment for families to participate in the Estonian community, cultural and sporting activities.
- Encourage the promotion of good citizenship and the values of tolerance and cultural diversity.
- Organise an annual summer camp for young people of an Estonian background in Australia, which this camp shall be known as “Sõrve”.
- Undertake any activities consistent with the above objects.
